VMFA at Sunset

My photo class visited VMFA (Virginia Museum of Fine Arts) for a sunset shoot this past week.  Having never been there I was not sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the grounds are.  They are small but very pretty and comfortable, a place you would want to take a walk around and just enjoy the sights.These are some of my favorite photos taken.  I will say the class has taught me to be more deliberate and I am very much enjoying it. These were all taken at sunset so the theme was to capture the lights and shadows. 

Historic Fork Inn (Meet-up Group) Photo Session

My Photography Meet-up Group was able to visit this very cool historic inn located outside Petersburg, VA.The owners are original family members as it has been passed down for centuries. They still live in the home and they opened up the entire house to us and let us photograph anything we wanted. It was an amazing look into the past as every piece of furniture and decor is true to the period of the home (except the kitchen which just remodeled and updated to modern conveniences).Some of my favorites from the day:
