Week 52 Challenge -Week #1

Starting a new challenge this year, to document my life in 1-10 photos for 52 weeks.Started 2018 with second degree burns along the bottom of my wrist, had to head back to work after 18 days off (turned out okay with a big raise from my boss to thank me for 2017), the snow & very unusual freezing temps resulted in 1st work week becoming work from home week after 2 days, I started a huge family project of scanning all my moms photographs going back 60 plus years so we can preserve them and a personal commitment to get back on the workout routine after taking the holidays off rounded out the week.I am exhausted :)[envira-gallery id="12735"]

My Christmas Surprise

I have the best husband in the world!!!I have literally drooled and dropped hint after hint for the past 2 years that it would be my dream to own the Panasonic  m100-400mm Leica lens for my birding and wildlife photography. Using a micro four thirds camera this provides me up to 800 mm in length when compared to a 35mm or dSLR  .  I literally sat in stunned silence when Guy told me to order it, that he really wanted me to have it.It arrived Friday and I took it out for a quick test drive right away.  Now the thing about this lens is it needs light, the more the better and of course it was cloudy and overcast, and it has a learning curve so I was struggling a bit but if this is bad light, can't wait to see what good light will be.  And who gets to shoot a bald eagle on their first test run of a new pro lens??

A few other shots..

A Old Fashion Christmas at Maymont

Last Sunday Guy and I decided to visit Maymont plantation as they were hosting a throw-back day to Christmas during. Maymont is a 100 acre plantation located in the heart of Richmond, VA and is gorgeous.  it is one of my favorite places to explore in the spring when all its gardens are in full bloom.   The main draw of the day was to explore the mansion as neither of us had ever been inside.  It certainly did not disappoint. A few of the exterior:
Overall it was a great day.  I wish they had more decor and activities happening but its a newer event and I am sure will grow over time and we certainly will return,.
