Apple Pie Shortcake

When we were in Destin my brother made Old Fashion Strawberry Shortcake using the recipe on the Bisquick box. Guy hadn't stopped talking about them and since I don't eat strawberries I decided to have a try at them with my own twist. Instead of strawberries I used apple pie filling. The turned out really yummy and I will make them again.
I just followed the shortcake portion of the recipe, sliced them, added warmed up apple pie filling, sprinkled with cinnamon in the middle. I did one scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a small drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Remembering Dad on this Independence Day
/I used the Google Scanner app on my iPhone to scan these three photos of my dad leading his troops.
The photos were taken in the late 60's while we were stationed in Quantico, VA. They hang in my brothers house now and since I never had any of dad working I am so glad to hear about this app on a podcast. It was very easy to use. I suggest everyone download it since it is free and this way you have it handy. 
Road Trip 2017
/And we are off before sunrise headed to Destin Florida for a week with my brother and SIL, hopefully a few nephew sightings along with some sun and fun.
