Oreo House

Full Circle Moment

I needed this tonight. I had myself a full childhood circle moment.

When I was very little, five or six years old, we would visit my grandparents house, they had a pantry with dutch doors and Chris (my younger brother) and I used to play restaurant and grocery store in it all the time.

I never forgot the fun we had and when Guy and I started designing our house I knew it had to have a pantry and I insisted on dutch doors just like my grandma had. The builder couldn’t find any and tried to talk me out of them but it was a nonnegotiable for me so he created them for us. I knew one day our grandchildren would use their imagination in the pantry and make the same memories I have.

Tonight our pantry became a “dinner and drink” restaurant. Benjamin was the chef and the drink maker. Avery took the orders and delivered the waters. I ordered $1 water and the free beans. The rest of the menu was out of my price range LOL.

My heart is full.

40 Years….

I don’t think you will ever know how the course of my world changed 40 years ago today.  I was just a 22-year-old kid, you were a baby at 20. You were supposed to continue into adulthood with me, we had big plans the two of us but God had other plans for both of us.

For the last 40 years, no one has replaced you! No one could!  40 years without you sucks.  I miss you and love you little brother not one bit less than the day you left us.

Tell mom and dad I love them too.
