New Backyard Visitor - Sharp-shinned Hawk

We had a visitor yesterday. Guy and I were walking through the kitchen and all of a sudden I saw this Sharp-shinned hawk in the backyard.  I made Guy freeze as I snuck into our dining room, got down very low, cracked open the only window we have in that room without a screen and was able to get some photos.

Rare Visitor to the Feeder

We had a rare visitor to the platform feeder this week. Sadly I didn’t get any photos of it as he/she was here while we were out but I was able to snag some screen shots from the Birdsy camera which is how we knew he/she was here.

This is a Pine Warbler and I have only seen one, one other time, again in our yard but it was several years ago. They look so much like the American Goldfinch that they blend right in with the flock we have this winter.

Spring (?) Colors

These crazy spring temperatures in February are not only bringing out the buds in trees but have the birds dropping their non-breeding foliages for spring mating colors.
