This little guy was just sitting on the deck waiting for the rain to end.

He's Up

After waiting so long Guy finally had his left knee replaced today.  It has certainly been a long road, but as he says, now its off to a new life and new adventures.Here he is just hours after surgery, taking the first steps!! While recovering, there won't be much action on the blog but hopefully in about 6 weeks we will be back out and about and enjoying this life we have together.

Passed this old shed while out for a drive and had to stop and take the photo.  I just loved how the light was hitting the side.  

Spring birds are here so where is Spring??

A freak snow and ice storm over Northern Virginia the last two days has totally confused the spring birds.  They know it is March, now if Mom Nature would only realize it!So ready for this winter to be over!!

Firefighter of the Year

I can't find the words to express how very proud I am of my youngest son who was named Firefighter of the Year for his department.Being presented this award at anytime on ones career is amazing but he is so young and to have earned it after nominations from not one but several of his officers makes it even more special.Before he was awarded that award, he received a Lifesaving Award along with his entire duty crew. (there he is 2nd from the left).  Once this award and a few others to his co-workers were presented it was time for the final award.  His award as Firefighter of the YearAward PresentationBrian and Kailynn
